This has been a good month for pfSense® software awards. First, pfSense software won a 2023 PeerSpot Tech Leader award! This honor is extended to just the top three solutions in the Firewalls category on the PeerSpot Buying Intelligence Platform.
Netgate also took home 42 awards in several categories in the G2 Fall 2023 Report, including new regional awards in EMEA, Asia Pacific, and the Americas. The list includes Enterprise, Mid-Market, and Small Business awards in categories such as Best Estimated ROI, Best Relationship, Best Usability, Most Implementable, and Users Most Likely to Recommend, for both the Firewall Software and Business VPN groups.
pfSense+ Enterprise: High Availability on AWS
A common feature request for pfSense+ in AWS has been High Availability (HA) support. Netgate is excited to announce that pfSense+ Enterprise is coming to the AWS Marketplace in Q4 and to the Azure Marketplace in Q1 2024! This new product will offer high availability functionality on pfSense Plus software in the cloud. pfSense+ Enterprise will also include our highest level of support, available 24x7x365 with a 4-hour response time SLA, and a future roadmap of exciting, enterprise-focused features.

The Dynamic DNS client built into pfSense+ software can automatically update a variety of DNS providers when an interface IP address changes. Dynamic DNS enables remote clients to access services on or behind the firewall using a persistent hostname rather than an IP address. This is particularly useful for sites that have dynamic WAN IP addresses.
TNSR Release Schedule Update
TNSR® software is released three times a year and has recently shifted one month, to November, March, and July. This shift in the release schedule was administrative to deconflict product releases with pfSense software. Stay tuned to this section next month because we will have some very exciting TNSR software news to share with you!
TNSR Software Implementation
TNSR software is CLI and API-driven, with a familiar and easy-to-learn interface that reduces learning curves and operational costs. It is easy to orchestrate and manage a large number of devices using the API interface. In addition, a webGUI has been added to help reduce the learning curve further.

The route-test utility in TNSR is capable of adding IPv4 or IPv6 routes to the Linux kernel route table for the purpose of testing and validating memory requirements. This is useful for ensuring that the dataplane memory allocation is appropriately tuned for receiving large numbers of routes via dynamic routing protocols such as BGP.
